WWII German Luftwaffe Service Dress Trousers (Tuchhose) – Blue-Grey Wool Breeches

Description The WWII German Luftwaffe Service Dress Trousers (Tuchhose) were standard issue with the Luftwaffe blue-grey service tunic, worn by officers, NCOs, and enlisted men alike throughout the war. Constructed from fine blue-grey wool (100% natural, 80% plus wool content, around 500 gsm, mill dyed, tight weave, not coarse), these trousers reflected the same precision tailoring and practicality that characterized Luftwaffe uniforms. Our replication of the original trousers of the Luftwaffe Tuchhose features a high waist, button fly, side slash pockets, and a rear buttoned pocket. Early versions (1935–1939) were cut fuller through the thigh and tapered toward the calf to fit with marching or riding boots, while later-war trousers (1940–1944) adopted a straighter leg suitable for ankle boots or low shoes. Reinforced seat and pocket stitching added field durability. Both versions are available for sale here, and can be chosen in the product selection menu. For officers, the trousers were often privately tailored with silk or rayon linings, pressed creases, and optional belt loops and suspender buttons. Enlisted patterns used heavier wool and simple cotton lining. These trousers were worn with the Luftwaffe service tunic, Fliegerbluse, or overcoat, and became a symbol of the air force’s distinctive dress.
