Description The WWII German Luftwaffe White Summer Tunic was worn by officers and senior NCOs during warm-weather service and ceremonial duties, particularly in southern Europe and the Mediterranean. Introduced around 1939, this elegant tunic was tailored from fine white cotton twill or gabardine, providing both comfort and a smart appearance in tropical and summer conditions. Our perfect replication of the tunic follows the standard Luftwaffe cut, featuring a six-button front, two pleated breast pockets with scalloped flaps, and silver-grey Luftwaffe insignia including the embroidered breast eagle and rank shoulder boards. Collar tabs in branch colors (golden yellow for flying personnel, red for flak, brown for signals, etc.) are applied as removable insignia. Tunics also featured detachable shoulder boards for easy laundering. Collar tabs can be selected from the below table at no extra cost. It was commonly worn with white, grey, or stone-colored trousers, white peaked or side cap, and a matching white or black belt.
