Description The WWII German Luftwaffe Tropical Shorts were part of the lightweight field uniform worn by air and ground personnel serving in North Africa, Italy, and the Mediterranean. Designd for comfort and ventilation in warm climate, they were made from durable khaki or tan cotton twill and issued from 1941 onward. These shorts feature a high-waisted design with a button fly, belt loops, side adjustment tabs, two slanted front pockets, and one rear pocket with buttoned flap. The sturdy cotton fabric and reinforced seams ensured long life under field conditions. They were often worn with the Luftwaffe tropical shirt or tunic, knee-length socks, and ankle boots or sandals. The Luftwaffe tropical uniform series, including these shorts, was distinct from the Afrika Korps issue, with slightly darker khaki shades and Luftwaffe-style buttons and tailoring details. Custom tailoring/alterations at no extra cost. Great but for reenactors, collectors, movies, theater/films/movies etc.
