Description Our replication of the M1915 Belgian Army tunic (veste modèle 1915), which was introduced after the retreat to the Yser is the standard battledress of Belgian infantry and support troops for the First World War. Constructed of heavy khaki-brown wool (100% natural fibers – 80% wool content – 20 % cotton and others, no synthetic blends, tight weave mill dyed to Khaki using natural pigments and warm), the tunic is single-breasted, closed by five large buttons down the front. It features a high stand-and-fall collar, shoulder straps (passants d’épaule), two breast pockets with scalloped flaps, and two skirt pockets at the hip. The cuffs were plain but reinforced, often with a pointed or slightly turned design. Branch of service distinction is indicated by colored piping or facings on the collar patches and shoulder straps, allowing soldiers of different arms to be identified even in khaki uniform. Colored piping and facings are provided free of charge and a chart showing their use by different branches of service is given below. You can choose yours by making a choice at the product selection Menu. Gold/Silver piping was often used by officers and that option is also present as well as the option to leave the tunic plain Khaki.
