Description Our M1915 Belgian Army bandolier is a great replication of the bandolier which was a crucial piece of personal equipment carried by infantry and cavalry alike during the First World War. Made from high quality sturdy leather (for leather specifications please see product highlight section), the bandolier featuredsa broad shoulder strap with five cartridge pouches stitched along its length. Each pouch is fitted with a flap and stud closure to protect ammunition from mud and moisture. Theisdesign allowed soldiers to carry additional rifle cartridges beyond what their waist belts held, making it particularly useful for frontline troops. Two finishes were issued and we make both of them: Brown leather: The most common wartime issue. Black leather: Less common, but supplied to some units (particularly cavalry, gendarmerie, and postwar service). The M1915 bandolier was worn slung over one shoulder, crossing the chest, often in pairs (left and right), giving Belgian infantry their distinctive look in early war photographs.
