[Scrapbook for the Badger Balladiers 1973 Pacific Tours]

This action-packed scrapbook catalogs the 1973 Asian adventures of the Badger Balladiers. The 8-person group from the University of Wisconsin played a variety of folks songs to American troops stationed across the Pacific, courtesy of the War Department through the Armed Forces Professional Entertainment Program. The band performed two tours in January and March, including stopovers in Japan, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Hawaii, and Korea. The collection was compiled by John Schuetze, who played in the band with his sister Paula. Includes numerous maps, souvenirs, official documents, and more. Of particular interest is a booklet from the 267th Chemical Company on Johnston Atoll, home to some of America’s most devastating chemical and conventional weaponry.
