Description This set accurately reproduces the two primary boot types worn by British troops during the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879. Officers’ boots were knee-high black leather riding boots, crafted from smooth, polished leather with reinforced pull straps, a straight-cut top, and low stacked heels. These were worn with spurs for mounted or field officers. The enlisted men’s boots were ankle-length black leather ammunition boots, made of rough-side-out hide for durability, featuring seven lace eyelets, hobnailed soles, and iron heel plates. They were typically worn with black or khaki gaiters for protection and uniform appearance. Both versions were built for field endurance in the harsh South African conditions and remain essential reproductions for accurate Anglo-Zulu War uniforms. Both versions of the boots are available for sale here.
