This is an authentic porcelain Wehrmacht dinner (or maybe soup) plate of Nazi Germany. This piece is (likely) from a WW2 era Heer (German Army) mess hall. These porcelain wares were standard issue for use in military dining facilities and barracks. Description: Made of high quality porcelain; produced with durability & design to withstand regular use. Maintains mostly its original polish throughout & contains standard age wear. For its age, it’s in excellent condition w/quite visible markings at the underside. Markings: - Sharply depicts the German national eagle (Reichsadler) w/swastika, indicating it was produced for use by the German armed forces (Wehrmacht) during WW2. - Date stamped (production) 1937 w/the manufacturers mark, Schönwald. - Text is old style Gothic Fraktur script which was the dominant German typeface for centuries & was officially banned in 1941 by the Nazi Regime.
