Description The M1940 French Army Summer Cotton Drill Uniform was introduced just before the German invasion of 1940 as a lightweight alternative to the wool field service dress. Tailored from durable khaki cotton drill, it was designed for wear in the warmer climates of southern France, North Africa, and the Levant. Our M1940 tunic features a five-button front, four box-pleated pockets with scalloped flaps, shoulder straps, and an open notched collar suitable for wear with or without a tie. The trousers are high-waisted, straight-cut, and include side pockets, a button fly, and belt loops. The uniform was often worn with a leather belt, khaki puttees, and the standard Adrian helmet or colonial sun helmet. Colonial sun helmet available on request and additional prices – please email/Whats App for details. This reproduction captures the clean lines and light construction of the original design, representing the transitional phase of the French Army’s modernization in the early Second World War. Custom tailoring/alterations at no extra cost. Great but for reenactors, collectors, movies, theater/films/movies etc. Looking for more WW2 French uniform, we have a number of products for the same.
