Description Our 100% accurate replication of the German Luftwaffe Kapok Life Vest (Schwimmweste), which was standard issue for aircrew throughout WWII, evolving in detail from early to late-war patterns. We are the only company in the world that manufactures these currently. The early model, introduced around 1940, was made from heavy cotton canvas in golden-yellow color with natural kapok flotation pads, lace sides, and a waist belt with a metal friction buckle. It included a neck flap, securing ties, and air intake valves for optional inflation. The late (1943) pattern retained the same basic construction but used lighter cotton fabric, simplified seams, reinforced straps, and a small pocket for the CO₂ cartridge inflation system. Both versions bear stencilled Luftwaffe markings and inspection stamps. This reproduction faithfully replicates both variants, offering precise wartime detailing for collectors and reenactors.
