Description Australian (AIF) troops wore “Australia” titles on their shoulder straps, and the rising sun badge on slouch hats or collars. New Zealand tropps wore “New Zealand” shoulder titles, NZ-pattern buttons and insignia. Please see the main product picture. 1. AIF (Australian Imperial Force) Shoulder Titles Design:Usually rectangular cloth titles embroidered in cream or white lettering on dark khaki, brown, or black backing, reading “AUSTRALIA.” Placement:Sewn at the top of each sleeve, just below the shoulder seam on battledress blouses, khaki drill shirts, and jackets. 2. NZEF (New Zealand Expeditionary Force) Shoulder Titles Design:Similar in concept — rectangular cloth patch embroidered “NEW ZEALAND” in white or light khaki thread on dark khaki or rifle-green backing. Placement:Worn in the same position: top of the upper sleeve, below the shoulder seam, on both arms.
