Description Our 100% accurate version of the woolen sharovary breeches are reproductions of the standard cold-weather trousers of the Imperial Russian Army during the First World War. They are cut in the traditional Russian sharovary style — wide and roomy through the hips and thighs, tapering sharply below the knee — these breeches combine practicality, comfort, and durability for field service on the Eastern Front. The breeches are made from heavy wool cloth in khaki (100% natural fibers, over 70% wool – balance cotton and other incipients, less than 12 oz. weight, tight weave, milldyed to khaki in natural pigments), they provide warmth during autumn and winter campaigns. They are high-waisted cut featuring a button fly closure with suspender buttons for braces, ensuring a secure fit during long marches. Reinforced seams around the seat and inner thigh gave extra strength where wear was heaviest. Stitch with 100% natural khaki threads. The tapered lower legs were designed for wear with puttees , preventing snagging and offering protection in muddy and harsh terrain. Paired with the wool gymnasterka, belt, and M1910 boots, these breeches completed the cold-weather field uniform of the Russian enlisted soldier (ryadovoy).
