WWII German Luftwaffe Brown Leather Greatcoat – Officer’s Double-Breasted Coat

Description Our exact replication of the WWII Luftwaffe Brown Leather Greatcoat was a distinctive and practical outer garment worn by officers, aircrew, and certain ground personnel, particularly during cold-weather operations and in occupied Europe. Made from high-quality brown cowhide softy, 100% natural & naturally tanned and pigmented, 1.15 mm minimum thickness, top grain, polished leather , the coat was both stylish and functional, offering wind protection and durability during long service hours in the field or on airbases. Cut in a double-breasted pattern with six front buttons (three per side), it features a wide notched lapel, waist belt with buckle, and adjustable sleeve straps. The interior was/is lined in  wool flannel, providing warmth while allowing flexibility. Large slash pockets at the hips and an internal map pocket were typical officer features. The coat’s length extended well below the knee, ensuring protection against the elements while seated in vehicles or aircraft. Though not a standardized issue item, these coats were privately purchased by Luftwaffe officers and became a mark of prestige, commonly seen among flight crews, flak officers, and administrative staff.
