This finely detailed print shows some of the most advanced tools available for personal study in astronomy during the Georgian Era. The upper two images depict a Copernican and Newly Improved Armillary Sphere, both credited to the influential instrument maker George Adams. Immediately below is a matching pair of terrestrial and celestial globes set in elaborate stands, with compasses in the base. The image is credited to Milne (probably Thomas Milne) and was engraved by John Lodge. Published in London in 1789 by Charles Cooke and originally issued as part of a geographic reference volume.
