Description This WWII-era Kriegsmarine pea jacket is a robust naval overgarment tailored for cold-weather maritime service. Constructed from heavy-weight, tightly woven melton wool in deep navy blue, it offers superior wind resistance and thermal insulation. The double-breasted front features six to eight anchor-embossed brass or Bakelite buttons arranged in parallel rows, with a wide notched lapel designed to fold up for added neck protection in harsh conditions. The jacket includes two vertical slash pockets at the waist, reinforced with bar tacks for durability. The interior is partially lined in cotton twill or rayon, with a single inner pocket for documents or small tools. Sleeve cuffs are plain, without turnbacks, and the rear hem is straight-cut for ease of movement aboard ship. Additional technical details: • Wool weight: Approx. 32–36 oz/sq yd • Button spacing: 8–10 cm center-to-center • Collar width: 10–12 cm at widest point • Back panel: Single-piece construction with center seam • Labeling: Often ink-stamped with depot codes and size markings inside the lining
