Description A faithful reproduction of the U.S. Army enlisted man’s rough side-out boots as worn during the War of 1812. These ankle-high boots are made from heavy, vegetable-tanned cowhide with the rough side turned outward, just as in original period examples. The design features square toes, pegged or hand-stitched soles, and straight lasts (no left or right differentiation) — all accurate to early 19th-century military construction. Built for durability on campaign, these boots were typically worn with wool gaiters or over fall-front trousers. The unlined interior and double-stitched seams ensure strength and comfort through long wear.
