This is an authentic US military Cammenga Model 3H Tritium Lensatic compass with National Stock Number (NSN): 6605-01-196-6971 & Military Specificiatioin: MIL-PRF-10436N. The Cammenga Compass is the U.S. Military’s official compass manufacturer. Vintage 2001, confirmed by the lid stamp date code. Date code interpretation: - 1st two digits: year of production. - 2nd two digits: month of production. - 3rd two digits: 77 (if sold outside of a US government contract). Any other number (sold inside of a government contract). This compass has date code "01 02 04" - 01 = 2001 - 02 = February - 04 = sold on government contract; meaning it was sold specifically for military use.
